Implementation

The Implementation Department is primarily responsible for the negotiations and implementation of the Implementation Plan for the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun based on the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun Self-Government Agreement.  These Activity Plans describe the specific activities, projects and measures required to implement the provisions of the Self-Government Agreement.  These negotiations could include:  the Financial Transfer Agreement, the Administration of Justice, Local Government Services, Programs and Services, taxation, etc.

In the negotiations, the Parties, who include the Government of Canada and the Yukon Government, are committed to promoting opportunities for the well-being of Citizens equal to those of other Canadians and to providing essential public services of reasonable quality to all Citizens.  This is one of the guiding principles in the Self Government Agreement.
