Dunena Ko’Honete Ko Daycare
Here at Dunena Ko’honete we believe that children are capable and competent, and they are entitled to the safe environments and opportunities that foster positive emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development. We value multiculturalism, independence, and dignity. Families are entitled to be involved in a meaningful way in their childcare experience and deserve the assurance of quality care for their child while they are at work, school or just enjoying some personal time.
The early childhood educators are entitled to work in an environment which recognizes and respects their training, skills, and commitment to childcare, and which demonstrates this through respectful communication and personnel policies.
We work to make each day a happy learning experience for your child by including opportunities for interactive and social play, reading groups, arts/crafts, and outdoor adventures with a strong connection to the Northern Tutchone culture and traditions.
The First Nation supported the community by opening a daycare service to all the community members; it has been in operation since February 13, 2007. The Daycare operates under the YTG Child Care regulations.
They offer services from 8:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M for working parents. Subsidy application forms are available at the Daycare.
The Daycare has a committee established to assist with the operations of the facilities and policy development.
