Youth are the foundation of our Nation. When our leaders wrote the foundation document Together Today For Our Children Tomorrow, they had future generations in mind. This page is dedicated to sharing more about NND youth-specific initatives, opportunities, and programs.

The First Nation supported the community by opening a daycare service to all the community members; it has been in operation since February 13, 2007. The Daycare operates under the YTG Child Care regulations.
They offer services from 8:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M for working parents. Subsidy application forms are available at the Daycare.
The Daycare has a committee established to assist with the operations of the facilities and policy development.
The Youth Council provides leadership to FNNND Youth by helping them learn about NND values and traditions. They will also help Youth understand about the NND government works. Like the Elders Council, the Youth Council sends a representative to the meetings of other Governing Bodies, and helps Council and Elders Council in their decision-making responsibilities. As it learns about and assists in government activities, the Youth Council lead the community youth by encouraging them to honour the Constitution and all the laws, policies and regulations made under it. the Youth Council also works with Elders Council to encourage the teaching of NND culture and language, entrusting that these are carried on in the present and into the future.
The Youth Council has monthly meetings to discuss community youth interests, needs and budget. The elected Youth Councillor takes these to Council then work with the Youth and Recreation Coordinator to implement changes or programming.
