This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience managing residential buildings, can work effectively within a fast-paced environment, and can handle complex situations.
You will be responsible for the overall administrative function of NNDs housing programs and ensuring adherence to the NND housing policy. This includes buildings and maintenance, planning construction projects; budget forecasting and monitoring projects. Specific responsibilities include coordination of repairs and renovations, dealing with tenants’ leases and related issues. You will work closely with the Housing Committee respecting housing allocations.
The position involves working in collaboration with the Director of Capital and Infrastructure to develop plans for new home construction. You will ensure that contractors or construction crews are following instructions and adhering to safety standards. You will supervise a Housing Assistant, trades-persons and general labour staff.
You will bring three years of experience managing residential buildings working within a multi-cultural environment. A certified Safety Specialist Certificate is an asset. A Class 5 Yukon Drivers licence is required. You will have a working knowledge of related legislation including the Yukon Landlord and Tenant Act, National Building code and the Yukon Health and Safety Act. Your ability to provide mentoring and coaching to Housing staff will enhance your success in this position.
We are looking for someone who has excellent people, organizational and administrative skills. The ability to exercise diplomacy when dealing with tenants and contractors is essential. Previous experience delivering effective customer service to employees, citizens and the general public is necessary
