Capital Manager

THE OPPORTUNITY
There is a significant amount of new construction occurring within the First Nation of Nacho Nyak
Dun (FNNND) Settlement Land. We have an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a challenging
job, has a diverse background in managing construction projects and extensive experience working
within a multi-cultural environment.

THE PERSON
You will be responsible for the overall administration, management and delivery of a capital work
program, services and properties of FNNND. The position involves supervising FNNND staff and
contractors including taking corrective action as necessary.

Your main accountabilities include:
➢ Managing, developing and implementing Capital and Asset policies and procedures.
➢ Monitoring and interpreting changing legislation, building codes, worksite safety as
it pertains to infrastructure and assets.
➢ Upgrading of facilities, building and camps.
➢ Management of the FNNND vehicle fleet.
➢ Ensuring that the Occupational Health and Safety Committee is operational so that there is a safe
and healthy work environment. This is done in conjunction with the
Human Resources Department.
➢ Maintenance of the Outpost Camps.

QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will be a Red Seal Journeyman with three-five years of experience working in
the construction trades in a supervisory capacity. Certification in an Occupational Health and
Safety Program or the willingness to obtain the appropriate education is an asset. Prior experience
working within a multi cultural environment is necessary. Your ability to write effective Funding
Agreement Proposals will enhance your success in this position. The ability to communicate in a
clear, concise, diplomatic manner is required.

This is a full-time position: 75 hours bi-weekly. Salary range is from $34.68 to $45.79 per hour.
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. The FNNND offers a
