BID REQUEST - Meals on Wheels Program

“This initiative is to provide healthy, regular meals to our Elderly citizens that have limited capabilities to cook for themselves.”

SCOPE OF SERVICES
- Order supplies required to cook for 5 - 6 individuals (weekly);
- Deliver meals 3 times per week on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday;
- Ensure meals are nutritious and diabetic friendly;
- Submit monthly status reports to the Manager of Social Programs, and;
- Make arrangements for service when on vacation, sick, or unavailable.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Current Food Safe Level 1 & Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with transportation;
2. Knowledge of proper sanitation procedures and food safe guidelines;
3. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations;
4. Understanding of food handling and sanitation standards;
5. Positive communication and interpersonal skills;
6. Positive attitude and a consistent display of professionalism;
7. Ability to exert physical effort in transporting meals and supplies, and;
8. Skills in preparation of traditional First Nation meals would be an asset.

Closing Date:  March 5, 2012
The anticipated start date for this program is March 19, 2012
